about

With sounds of rainfall recorded in Karachi in 2020 and the Sufi poetry of Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai from Sindh recorded in Edmonton Studios, this acousmatic composition creates a new conversation about monsoons in South Asia amidst climate change and COVID-19. As children eagerly await rain to fall chanting songs for the rain to fall, Karachi, the metropolitan centre of Pakistan, experiences one of the heaviest floods in its history.
